Welcome to my Exhibition of Paintings
I am a Contemporary Impressionist Artist living in Melbourne specialising in Oil & Acrylic Painting on Canvas, Sketch Portraits, Landscape Paintings, etc.
Working with my older brother Bill, I drew caricatures of sports people and politicians at an early age for newspapers. Sidney Nolan was the major influence in my life. In my teens, I joined my brother Bill and started illustrating for magazines, drawing people and places.
Formally taught to paint by Artist Joyce Watts, I spent time at the Sherbrook Art Society. I also joined the Contemporary Art Society (CAS) of Victoria, where Sidney Nolan was also a member since 1938.
Since the early 1980’s, I have painted many portraits – Some famous and some not so famous!
I have been teaching Art Classes in Bentleigh for over 6 years, at Bentleigh Community Center (Godfrey Street). The art is for all newcomers inclusive of those with disabilities: mental, autism, older and younger alike. I love to teach and pass on my knowledge and experience to aspiring young artists !
My paintings are available to Purchase, so if you find one that you are interested in give me a call on 0409 931 690.
This painting was given to Mr Steve Bracks (Former Premier) with Nick Staikos (Member of Bentleigh). Painted by Russell Nolan-Lewis.
